St. Patricks Day
On 17th of March the whole of St Paul school had to where a touch of green and bring a gold coin donation. Also there were cakes, jellies, fairy floss and many more sweet treats to be sold for a $1 or less on the day.
We wear green on St. Patrick's day because St. Patrick was originally born and grew up in Island. Island is known as the emerald (green) island. That is why we wear green on St. Patrick's day.

dance fever.
Dance fever
Today we learnt two dances which were the cha cha cha and our hip hop routine. It was really fun because it was a challenge it was really fast but as you see we did a great job today by keeping in time and being great dancers. Our dance teachers are Jessie and Rachael. They are really funny and fun to dance with!!!They are State Champions all over the world. Jessie's highest place has been 15th and Rachael came second!:) The move we are doing below is called Freeze (The Picture).
we learned 3 parts of dance space, relationship and dynamics it was really fun
but exhausting. We had a great time with our two teachers.
We have already learnt some of our first 2 dances and soon we will be learning the foxtrot.
Year 5 have also learnt something called the tutting exercise.
If we are bored then we can occupy ourselves by making up our own tutting exercise. The teachers are very encouraging and energetic.
we think it is fantastic that the St Paul's students get to express themselves in such a wonderful and interactive way, since we are learning partner dancing!
Writing
Stimulus Writing
This week we have been using stimulus objects to inspire our writing. When we came into the space there was one object on each desk and we had the opportunity to select the object that inspired us. Then we brainstormed the different types of writing we could work with. They included imaginative, informative and persuasive texts.
